Unable To Fix Asm Driver Permissions 5,0/5 9325 reviews
Learning has never been so easy!

Windows 10 mail keeps asking to fix account I have 4 different accounts configured on Windows 10 mail (Outlook mail) and two of them keeps asking me to fix the account sometimes. If I click on fix, a window appears for a few seconds, disappears and everything works for a couple of days, when it ask me to fix it again.

After updating JAVA to v7u51 I tried to log into our Dell EqualLogic SAN and was unable to using either the browser window or the launch application option. The description of the issue was posted on the JAVA website as:
Why are Java applications blocked by your security settings with the latest Java?
CAUSE
Starting with Java 7 Update 51, Java has enhanced security model to make user system less vulnerable to the external exploits. The new version of Java does not allow users to run the applications that are not signed (Unsigned), Self signed (not signed by trusted authority) and the applications that are missing permission attributes.
Jar file missing Permission Attribute:
Permissions Attribute verifies that the application requests the permission level that developer specified. If this attribute is not present, it might be possible for an attacker to exploit a user by re-deploying an application that is signed with original certificate and running the application at a different privilege level.

My research indicated that I should be able to list the URL or IP address as an exception on the security Tab. However when I opened the security Tab from the JAVA control console the button wasn't there. When I checked the About button on the General page I saw that it wasn't showing this as version 7 update 51. I discovered then that this was a 64 bit version of Windows 7 and that there was a 64 bit version of JAVA that was also installed which was the one controlling the browsers even though the browsers were 32 Bit versions. Below is the description of the process I used to fix the problem

8 Steps total

Step 1: Go to the control panel and uninstall the 64 bit version of Java

Open Programs and Features and select the 64 bit version of Java and select Uninstall.

Step 2: Open up the Java Control Panel

Found as an option in the standard windows control panel

Step 3: Check the version by clicking on the About Tab

If this is not what you expected you can go to java.com and download the latest version.

Step 4: Click on the Security Tab in the Java Control Panel

Step 5: Click on the Edit Site List button in the lower RH corner of the control panel

Step 6: Add your URL to be allowed

Enter the full path that you use to access this such as https://myequallogics.com or the IP address if that is how you access it (as in http://192.168.0.100 - Https is recommended by Oracle.) Once complete hit OK. You should now see the exception on the security page.

Step 7: Close out of the control panel.

Step 8: You can now acess your site through the browser window.

Thank you for sharing this !! This resolution was perfectly timed, as the same issue bit me when I tried to log into our Equalogic SAN.

    all good now.

This doesn't fix the ASDM launcher though, I'm getting another weird error with that.

Thanks! Did the trick for a plan-sharing site a user needed to access.

Coloradogeek I had the same issue when I first tried this. It turns out that I was trying to just add the IP address without the http or https prefix. I realized I didn't make that real clear in step 6.

Still no luck for me. Trying to access my companies simplehelp server for the technicians to be able to remote access our customers and still getting 'Missing required Permissions manifest attribute in main jar: http://10.84.10.2:80008/tinyapplet.jar' error when I try to load the page. Added the url to the exceptions as well as that link that is in the error message and added my SSL certificate provided by my company for my accounts into java and still nothing is working. If anyone has any ideas I am open to pretty much anything short of formatting my HD and replacing Win8 at this point.

i tried adding the exception to the localhost IP but i still got issues. i didn't try reducing the security level (that may have helped) in the end i simply unchecked the use of Java content in browser, which allowed me to use the Cisco Config Pro.. it's not something that gets used often so i just checked the option back on after using it..

Scratch that, i reduced the security level to medium (out of curiosity) which gave me a security prompt, once i accepted this the Cisco Conf Pro worked as per normal.
